Halkidiki 9 Day Weather Forecast (13.10-21.10 2011)
Weather Summary
The next 9 days will see a rather mixed bag of weather with sunshine, clouds, rain and wind. Thursday (13th) looks set to be generally sunny and mild, Friday (14th) sees the start of a weather front moving in which will bring rain by the afternoon, overnight and into Saturday (15th). Saturday will see more rain and some quite breezy conditions during the afternoon and it will feel cooler. Sunday (16th) will be generally cloudy but this should clear up overnight leaving Monday (17th) and the rest of the week mainly clear and sunny, temperatures should also pick up by mid week.
Outlook
Looking further ahead, the weather seems set to continue the same patterns, with generally fine conditions mixed with the odd days of cooler, wetter weather.
The area of cooler weather we were watching which looked set to bring a cold start to November, now looks like it will not reach as far south. So for the time being, the start of November is looking set to be settled and relatively mild.

Track Storms in Halkidiki and throughout Greece!
Ever wondered when and where the next storm will hit?
Well, I thought I’d share with you this pretty cool app that allows you to track storms/lightning strikes directly from your mobile. If you have an activity planned, your work is weather dependent, or you’d just like a heads up, then this app is for you!
It displays the location of lightning strikes on a Google map using the StormVue (TM) data file produced by the NexStorm (TM) application from Astrogenic Systems.
Scan the QR code on the left to download the app directly to your mobile, or search for STORM VIEW in the ANDROID MARKET on your phone, or go to https://market.android.com/details?id=nz.gen.skywatcher.storm&feature=order_history
Once downloaded, open the app and go to SETTINGS, then click DETECTOR, then choose GR THESSALONIKI Diavata (SV2BZQ)
If you don’t already have a scanner installed on you mobile, we recommend QuickMark, which can be found in the ANDROID MARKET on your phone, or go to https://market.android.com/details?id=tw.com.quickmark
Halkidiki 9 Day Weather Forecast (04.10-12.10 2011)
Weather Summary
A generally pleasant week is expected with mild temperatures averaging around 24c. The coming weekend looks set to bring a change with rain forecast for Sunday (9th).
The following week starts nice but, as we mentioned in our last forecast “we’re watching a weather system that could bring some wet weather between the 10th and 16th and another around the end of the month” temperatures look set to drop as the week goes on with more rain pushing in from the north. Typical temperatures by the end of the week will be around 15c.
Outlook
Looking further ahead, we are watching an area of cold weather, to the north which, at the moment looks like it could make its way here around the 22nd bringing temperatures down to around 11c and into single figures during the night. This looks short lived and temperatures should return to around 16c before more cooler weather from the north pushes in again around the change of the month.
November now looks set to start rather cold as a large area of cold air extends its way from Russia down through Eastern Europe and the Balkans. It’s still very early yet to be sure, but we’ll keep a close watch and will continue with any updates in our next forecast.

Halkidiki Weather Update!
UPDATE – 20/09/2011: As expected, the rain will arrive from the west late Tuesday afternoon. It will be quite windy on Tuesday and the heaviest rain and thunder storms are expected overnight, especially in the mountains. Sithonia and the east look set to receive heavy downpours overnight. The heavy rain over the mountains, Sithonia and the east coast look set to continue through the night and into Wednesday. The main storm should pass away by late Wednesday evening leaving mostly shower. Thursday morning may see more showers before clearing by the afternoon. Temperatures will be slightly down, but still holding up at around 23c despite the rain.
Over all expected rain:
Kassandra – 52mm
Central Halkidiki – 266mm
Sithonia – 190mm
17/09/2011 – A quick update for the weather next week and the rain we’re expecting. The charts and other forecasts all seem to be in disagreement at the moment as to the day(s) we get rain and the amount we get. Some say storms and heavy rain, others differ slightly. Right now, I’m going with my own prediction based on experience and local knowledge. I think Tuesday, the rain will come, it maybe heavy in the mountains but the coastal regions will not be bad. Sithonia and the east will see more rain than the west, but everywhere will get some rain. I’m going out
Halkidiki 9 Day Weather Forecast (15.09-23.09 2011)

Halkidiki 9 Day Weather Forecast (06.09-14.09 2011)
Weather Summary
A gradual change will take place as head deeper in to September, but nothing major. Temperatures will be average for the time of year with daytime temperatures around 27c. Night temperatures are becoming more comfortable and will average around 23c. There is a chance of a couple of thunderstorms and a stray shower on Tuesday (6th) and Wednesday (7th), these should be confined to the mountain areas of central Halkidiki but may produce more in the way of cloud in other areas. The rest of the week and the weekend looks set to be fine, warm and dry.
Outlook
As we are coming closer to the change of seasons, I’m going to try something I’ve never done publicly before and predict the general weather throughout September and into the first couple of weeks of October. I have attempted this personally before with reasonable results and my forecasting techniques and accuracy have improved enough to all me to give this go. Weather forecasting becomes more difficult as we change seasons from summer to Autumn and from Spring to Summer, so I consider it a bit of a challenge. Please remember, these are just my predictions based on my techniques and I can’t promise total accuracy [read about our forecasts here]…so, here goes.
September:
First half will be generally fine and dry with plenty of warm sunshine around. Towards the middle of the month, we may see some thunderstorms and patchy showers. Towards the end of the month there is potential for more in the way of rain but these should be just showers rather than pre-longed periods. Average temperatures will range from 28c at the start of the month down to around 25c by the end of the months and night time temperature will range from 23c to 17c for the same period.
October:
The first week of October should start generally warm with temperatures around 24c but there is the potential for a change as we head into the second week with rain and cooler temperatures down to around 16c.
If you’re wondering what the weather is like here at any time of the year that is outside the range of normal forecasting, you can always check out the ARCHIVE section on the right hand side. This will give you access to past weather forecasts and conditions though out the year.
