Fourka

Featured Accommodation

The village of Fourka let you see both sides of Greece. Down at the seafront, it's a modern resort – purpose built for visitors to enjoy the long hot days. A couple of miles inland is the old village – the perfect antidote for those who crave a fix of character and charm. And surrounding Fourka are tracks and trails to keep walkers and hikers content with country pursuits.

If it's sun and sand you're coming for, Fourka gives you good facilities and a great beach. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants down by the sea in Skala Fourkas (to give the resort its full title) – along with just one disco. The narrow sweep of golden sand shelves gently into the water. Water sports are also available.

The original village is a step back in time, with 19th century houses, a Byzantine church and pots of colourful flowers. Sightseeing includes boats to Skiathos or Mount Athos, and summer concerts at Siviri's open amphitheatre.
